Preserving evidence and reporting
Gathering screenshots yourself is understandable, but it is hard to use. We record it in a way that stays verifiable and write it up.
What we examine
- Which devices, accounts and messages are relevant to your situation.
- What of it still exists and what has already gone.
- Which data can still be requested, and from whom.
What you receive
A record of the material with date, time and the method of preservation, so it can later be checked that nothing was altered.
A report in plain language: what was examined, what was found, and what it means technically. Written so somebody without a technical background can follow it.
The material in a form you can submit to the police, your lawyer or your insurer.
What we do not do
- We do not decide whether something is accepted as evidence. That is for a court.
- We draw no conclusions about guilt or intent. We describe what was technically established.
- We change nothing and leave nothing out because it suits better, including when that would favour you.
The sooner we are involved, the more there is left to preserve. At many services data disappears of its own accord over time.
