Strange pop-ups, a browser you do not recognise, or files you can no longer open. We clean it up and make sure it stays gone.
What you notice
- Windows pop up that you did not open yourself.
- Your home page or search engine changed without you doing it.
- You can no longer open your own files.
- A message says you must pay or call a number to fix something.
- Friends receive mail from you that you never sent.
What we do about it
We clear out what does not belong and put your computer back in a state you can trust again.
Then we look at how it got in, so it does not happen again the next day. Often that is a matter of changing one setting.
Getting a message telling you to call or pay? Do not, and call us instead. Those messages are almost always there to take your money.
Not sure whether something is wrong? Call anyway. Taking a look costs you nothing and settles the question.
