The Surface is a tablet and a laptop at once, which makes it different to work on than an ordinary laptop.
What we get asked about
- The screen no longer responds to touch.
- It will not power on or will not charge.
- The keyboard is no longer recognised.
- It has become slow.
- There are files on it that you need.
What we do
A Surface is a closed device: the screen is bonded to the rest and the storage does not simply come out. So we establish carefully where the problem is before anything is opened.
If it is the keyboard, that is usually the easy part, because it is a separate piece.
For your files the same applies as with Apple: the sooner we look, the better the odds.
Still under warranty? We will say so, because with these machines that is often the sensible route.
