Off a table, off the sofa, or out of a bag. Sometimes nothing shows and yet something stopped working.
What you notice
- It fell and will not switch on.
- It still works but there is a dent or a crack.
- The screen stopped after the fall.
- It makes a noise that was not there before.
- It still works, but you want to know whether there is damage.
What we do about it
After a fall we first look for anything that has come loose, because that is the most common and cheapest outcome.
If it has made a ticking noise since, you are better off not carrying on with it. With a damaged drive, every minute it spins counts.
Even when it seems fine, something may be damaged that only shows later. We look and tell you honestly whether anything is wrong.
