What we do about it
Most startup time goes on programs that have set themselves to start with it. Few of them need to.
A drive that keeps working afterwards says something about the type of drive. On an older machine that is often the only real bottleneck, and it is fixable.
We clear out what is not needed and leave what you use. You do not have to set anything up again afterwards.
A computer that starts slowly is nearly never ready for replacement. Usually it is an afternoon of work.
