A program will not start or freezes
One program fails while everything else works. That is nearly always solvable without touching the whole computer.
What you notice
- The program does not open, nothing happens at all.
- It starts and closes again immediately.
- It freezes as soon as you open something.
- It stopped working after an update.
- It works on one computer and not another.
What we do about it
A program that closes straight away nearly always leaves a trace saying why. We read that instead of guessing.
If it worked until an update, it can usually be put back, or a newer version does work. Reinstalling is far from always necessary.
If it is a program you need for work, we also make sure your files and settings survive.
Do not reinstall straight away. That sometimes loses settings that do not come back.
